Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how GameMapsIRL (the "App") handles information. GameMapsIRL is a turn-by-turn navigation app that shows the real world with game-inspired map themes, on iPhone and in CarPlay. The App works without accounts, and the settings you choose stay on your device. Please read this policy together with our Terms of Service and EULA.

1. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not ask you to create an account and we do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or contacts. We do not store your trips, routes, destinations, or location history on our servers.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

The following data is created and kept on your device:

• Preferences — the map theme you selected, your location marker, whether theme sounds play before directions, distance units, and whether you finished the first-launch setup.
• Recent searches — the text you typed into search (up to 8 entries). Search results themselves are not stored.
• Theme files — map themes downloaded from our theme server are cached on your device so the App opens quickly.

You can remove your preferences and recent searches at any time with Settings → Clear My Data in the App. Deleting the App removes all of the above, including cached theme files.

3. Location

If you allow it, the App uses your device location to show you on the map, to calculate routes from where you are, and to guide you turn by turn. During active navigation the App may continue to use your location in the background (iOS shows this with a location indicator) so guidance continues while the screen is off or another app is open. You can use the App without location access, but the map cannot follow you and routes cannot start from your position. You can change this permission at any time in the iOS Settings app.

4. Mapbox (Maps, Navigation and Search)

The App uses the Mapbox Maps SDK, Navigation SDK and Search Box API, provided by Mapbox, Inc. ("Mapbox"). To provide these features, the following is sent to Mapbox:

• Map display — requests for the map area you are viewing.
• Routing and navigation — your starting point, your destination, and your location during navigation (to keep you on the route, update traffic and re-route when needed).
• Search — the text you type into search and your approximate position, so results near you appear first.
• Telemetry — Mapbox collects anonymous location and usage data to improve its maps and services. You can opt out at any time in Settings → Share anonymous usage data with Mapbox.

5. Theme Server

The App downloads its list of map themes and theme files (map styles, icons, sounds, images) from our server at gamemapsirl.onerapps.com, which is operated on Cloudflare. These requests do not contain your location or any personal information. Like any web server, Cloudflare may process technical request data such as your IP address for security and delivery under the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

6. Voice Guidance and CarPlay

Spoken directions are generated on your device by Apple's text-to-speech in your device's language; no audio is sent to us. When you use the App in CarPlay, the same data flows described above apply; the App does not receive information about your vehicle beyond what CarPlay provides for displaying the App.

7. Analytics and Crash Reports

To understand how the App is used and to fix problems, the App may use the following services:

• Mixpanel — aggregate in-app events (for example: theme selected, search opened, navigation started) together with app version, device model, OS version, language and approximate region. Events never include your exact location, destinations or search text. See the Mixpanel Privacy Policy.
• Firebase Crashlytics (Google LLC) — crash reports containing technical information about the crash, device and OS. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Adjust — measures which campaign led to an install. The advertising identifier (IDFA) is only accessed if you allow tracking when iOS asks you (App Tracking Transparency); otherwise Adjust works without it. See the Adjust Privacy Policy.

8. Purchases and Subscriptions

• Apple processes all payments through the App Store. We never receive or store your payment card details.
• Adapty is our subscription management provider. To verify and restore purchases, Adapty processes purchase information (such as transaction data, product identifiers, country, and a randomly generated user ID) and limited device information. Adapty does not receive your name, location or routes from the App. See the Adapty Privacy Policy.

9. How We Use Information

We use the limited information described above only to provide the App's features (maps, navigation, search, themes), to measure aggregate usage and fix problems, and to deliver, validate, and restore your purchases. We do not sell your information and we do not use your location for advertising.

10. Data Retention and Deletion

Data stored on your device remains until you clear it in Settings or delete the App. Data processed by Mapbox, Cloudflare, Mixpanel, Google, Adjust, Apple and Adapty is retained according to their respective policies and applicable law.

11. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.

12. Security

Your preferences and recent searches stay on your device, protected by iOS data protection. Connections to Mapbox and to our theme server use encrypted HTTPS.

13. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR, KVKK or CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights regarding personal data, including access and deletion. On-device data can be removed directly by you. For data processed by our service providers, you may exercise your rights through those providers, or contact us and we will assist where we can.

14. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
